Privacy Policy
General
We at Speechnotes, Speechlogger, TextHear, Speechkeys value your privacy, and that's why we do not store anything you say or type or in fact any other data about you. We don't share it 3rd parties, other than Google for the speech-to-text engine. Your speech is sent from the app on your device directly to Google's speech-to-text engines for transcription, without even going through our servers. Note that Google's privacy policies may apply.
Your transcriptions are saved on your local machine (browser's local storage)
On our websites we do use cookies - which is data stored on your own machine - that's how we can store your previous session for instance. We only use it for what we need for the product. In addition, we serve Google AdSense ads, and use Google Analytics. They also use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. Alternatively, users can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
Optional Google OAuth - for uploading files to Google Drive
In case you would like to upload files to Google Drive directly from Speechnotes - we'll ask for your permission to do so. We will use that permission for that purpose only - syncing your speech-notes to your Google Drive, per your request.
Terms
Although we try, speech results might not be accurate. Also, Speechnotes is a service provided AS-IS and we cannot guarantee that it will continue in the future. For that reason, and for the small chance that software failures might happen, we suggest you export your important texts either to Google Drive or to your computer, so to be protected against unexpected data loss. We will not be responsible for data loss or inaccuracies.
No Warranty
We do our best to follow best security practices to protect our servers and your data, but, we cannot insure against data leaks or theft by either a technical mistake by us or by malicious attacks on our servers in form of hacking or unintended use or other. To minimize the risk in all cases - we do not gather or keep any information that we do not explicitly need for the app to operate or for collecting general analytics. We do serve targeted ads - only by Google - so they might collect their own data according to Google’s policies.
Web Specific (in addition to the General clause)
- We use your local storage to save your latest data from session to session, so it won’t get lost when you leave the website.
- We use targeted advertising by Google.
- We use Oracle’s AddThis Toolbar for social sharing. See their privacy policy here.

Android App Specific (in addition to the General clause)
- We use AdMob by Google for targeted ads. Admob uses your Android Ads ID.
